  • If interested in medical school or the health field, consult with an MACC  “Doctors Is In” professional.
  • Create LinkedIn Profile
  • Join the Wolverine Network
  • Apply for relevant on and off campus opportunities, focus on summer internships by September.
  • Shadow a professional in a potential career field or find a mentor.
  • Attend career workshops and events
  • Get to know your professors well; they are critical to your success.
    • They can also provide a letter of recommendation and identify potential undergraduate research opportunities.

 

  • Develop an internship search strategy
  • Research an appropriate graduate school, if applicable.
    • Research institutions that offer graduate programs of interest and request application materials and review submittal deadlines.
  • Attend campus wide career fairs and networking events.
  • Begin to build your professional wardrobe.
  • Prepare and develop your personal brand
  • Develop a plan for life after sports
  • Attend multiple workshops, seminars, and networking events offered by the MACC office, campus Career Center, or your college to strengthen your job searching skills.
  • Apply to 10+ full-time job opportunities; don’t limit yourself to a single company or position in your job search.
  • If considering graduate school, consult with your faculty advisor, academic advisor, and/or the MACC office to discuss the next steps.
  • Finalize your resume and cover letter
  • Enhance your interview skills
